People have been doing it for centuries; but you still have to do some research, if you want it to taste special. For the man who wants to experiment with making his own beer (or who just wants to read about the brewing process) to see if it's something that he wants to do as a future hobby, there are a lot of great magazines for his creative brewing pleasure. These publications explain what he needs to do, how to do it, and how to enhance the complexity of his home brew. They can also give him an idea of cost, initial setup, and brewing time, as well as, tell him what kind of beer to expect, when he makes it at home.

They will also give him some variations on the theme, so that he can get the kind of taste that he really wants. There's no point in getting a light beer, if he wanted something dark and heavy, and providing him with a magazine subscription will send him on his way to the perfect pint!
